1. Who we are

Big Brains Education operates ZookEd, a video-based test-preparation course for the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT®). Our address is 16220 Northeast 2nd Street, Bellevue, WA 98008, US. You can reach us at prepcogat@gmail.com.

2. Children’s privacy

The Services are intended for parents and legal guardians (18 or older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not ask children to create accounts, submit forms, or contact us. Course accounts and purchases are made by a parent or guardian; a child may watch lessons and take the self-check tests under that adult’s account and supervision. Likewise, a child may take part in a live online class only under a parent’s or guardian’s supervision, and a parent or guardian arranges the class.

The only child-related detail we ask for is an optional “child’s grade” on our sample-questions form, which the parent provides and which does not identify the child. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email prepcogat@gmail.com and we will delete it promptly.

If you choose to send us a school-district letter or a parent-portal screenshot to claim our money-back guarantee, you do so voluntarily. We use it only to verify your claim and delete it right afterwards, without keeping copies. You may black out your child’s name and student ID before sending.

3. Information we collect

Information you give us:

• Sample-questions form: parent name, email address, and (optionally) your child’s grade.
• Requests for a printed book or live classes: parent name, email address, your child’s grade, any notes you add and, for printed books, your mailing address.
• Guarantee claims: if you make one, the proof you choose to send (a district letter or a portal screenshot), used only to check the claim and deleted immediately afterwards.
• Course account and purchase: name, email address, password, and billing details. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number.
• Messages: anything you send us by email or through the platform.

Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring page or ad, the marketing parameters in the link you clicked (such as utm_source), cookie identifiers, and how you interact with our pages (clicks, taps, scrolling, and mouse movement), including anonymized session recordings and heatmaps. Text you type into our forms is masked and is not recorded.

Course activity: lesson progress, self-check test answers and scores, and enrollment and access dates, recorded on the course platform.

4. How we use information

• To provide the course, create and manage your account, and give you access for the period you purchased.
• To process payments, prevent fraud, and issue refunds.
• To handle your request for a printed book or live classes: calculate shipping, email you a payment link, mail the book, and organize class groups.
• To email you the free practice questions you requested, together with one offer for the course; service messages; and, only if you opt in, occasional emails about ZookEd. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To answer your questions and provide support.
• To measure how the website performs and how visitors find it, and to advertise ZookEd to adults (see Section 5).
• To improve the course and to comply with legal obligations.

5. Cookies, analytics, and advertising

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies (such as the Google tag) to run the site, remember your choices, and understand how it is used.

• Google Analytics 4 measures traffic and how visitors move between cogatprep.com and enroll.cogatprep.com. We keep Google signals and user-provided data collection turned off.
• Microsoft Clarity is a behavior-analytics tool that shows us, in aggregate and through session recordings and heatmaps, how visitors use cogatprep.com (for example, which buttons are clicked and how far pages are scrolled) so we can improve the site. Clarity uses cookies and similar technologies, and Microsoft processes this data for us under its Privacy Statement. We configure Clarity to mask text typed into our forms, and we do not use it to identify you.
• Google Ads conversion tracking and remarketing. We use Google Ads to measure whether our ads lead to purchases and to show ZookEd ads to adults who previously visited our site, on Google and on other sites in Google’s network. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a person’s prior visits to our site. We do not knowingly build advertising audiences from children’s data or direct our advertising to children.
• Course platform cookies from LearnWorlds keep you signed in and enable the shopping cart and checkout.

Your choices. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can opt out of personalized Google ads at adssettings.google.com, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or use the industry opt-outs at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org. You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it only with:

• Service providers that help us operate: LearnWorlds (course platform, accounts, CRM, and email), Stripe (payment processing), Google (analytics and advertising), Microsoft (Clarity site-behavior analytics), and Amazon Web Services (website hosting, and processing and email delivery of form submissions). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
• Delivery and meeting providers: postal and delivery carriers (such as the U.S. Postal Service) receive the name and address needed to deliver a printed book, and we use Zoom to hold live classes (classes are not recorded).
• Authorities or advisers when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or the security of the Services.
• A successor if Big Brains Education is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets; we will tell you if your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Under some state laws, advertising cookies of the kind described in Section 5 may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can opt out using the tools in Section 5 or by emailing us.

7. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: account and course records while your account exists and for a reasonable period afterward; purchase records as required for tax and accounting; sample-form contacts until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them; and shipping details only as long as needed to deliver your order and for tax and accounting records. You can request deletion at any time (Section 9).

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and reputable, security-focused providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to stop marketing emails, or to opt out of advertising-related sharing. Residents of California and certain other states have additional statutory rights, including to know what we collect, to delete, to correct, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To make a request, email prepcogat@gmail.com from the address associated with your account. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days. You may also use an authorized agent.

10. Where we operate

The Services are operated from the United States and are intended for use in the United States. If you access them from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective date” above shows the latest version; material changes will be posted on this page.
